My 1998 BMW 328i convertible with 168k miles needed to pass CA smog. The cats on my car (it has two - one per bank) may or may not have been original, but the EO number said they weren't legal in CA. The car was otherwise running fine, no issues with fuel efficiency or oil leakage. Got these delivered and had a muffler shop install them for $120.
