JunkI kept this in my garage to extend a cable for my fridge. I just wanted something with an angle and the extension cord does not look like it's extending out. But this served more as it even has surge protection which was really good. Just as easy as plug and play and you are ready to go.I'd initially purchased this for the refrigerator, because our air conditioner draws electricity each time it turns on (I see our lights flicker) and I didn't want to risk eventual damage to it over time. However, because it does protrude about 1 7/8" inches from the outlet, I was going to wait for my husband to move the refrigerator to allow space for it. But while waiting, I decided to use it for my laser-jet printer instead and either look for another style of surge protector or just buy this one later, and just move the refrigerator. I'm happy with this one; it has a light to let you know it's working and has a retro feel to it; kinda reminds me of those see-thru phones that I always wanted as a kid in the 80's.I had a water cooler that went bad recently after a storm. I don't know if it was just a coincidence or if there was a surge. In any case, I figured I would put one of these on the new one. This pocket surge protector is rated for 1800 joules which should be enough for any small appliance or small office machine (ie, printer or laptop). I've bought power strips before that were less than 800 joules of protection. The only odd thing was that the product info shows a clear surge protector and the box also shows a clear surge protector, but the one I received was all black. It functions just fine and I don't care about the color difference but I figured I should mention it.The unit did not come with any instructions but there is an LED light that turns on when everything is plugged in and getting power. It looks like as long as the LED light is on, the surge protection is working as it should. It seems pretty durable. It's small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and takes up very little space on the wall plate. On a standard 2-outlet wall plate, the second outlet should be easily accessible. This unit is labeled as made in Brazil and sold by Clamper in Florida, USA.
